The workshop structure balances intensive studio demonstrations with personalized, hands-on instruction. Each day runs from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM with a one-hour break for lunch. Participants will learn how to capture the unique tropical light, vibrant color palettes, and shifting coastal atmospheres that make the Florida Keys a legendary destination for artists worldwide. Whether you are an intermediate painter looking to break through a creative plateau or an advanced watercolorist refining your style, this course delivers actionable techniques to improve your composition, color mixing, and brushwork.

3. Required Workshop Supplies and Materials
To maximize your experience in the Gina Croce Watercolor Workshop, please bring the following standard watercolor supplies. Using professional-grade materials will dramatically improve your painting outcomes.
Watercolor Paper: Arches 140lb cold press paper (rough texture is also acceptable). Bring at least 4 to 6 full sheets, or a heavy-duty watercolor block (minimum size 11×14 inches).
Palette & Paint: A folding or covered watercolor palette filled with professional-grade tube paints (such as Windsor & Newton or Daniel Smith). Ensure your palette includes a warm and cool version of each primary color: Ultramarine Blue, Cobalt Blue, Lemon Yellow, New Gamboge, Cadmium Red, and Alizarin Crimson.
Brushes: A variety of high-quality watercolor brushes including a 1-inch flat wash brush, a #10 or #12 round brush for general work, and a small round detail brush (#4 or #6).
Support Tools: A sturdy backing board, painter’s tape, a water container, 2B sketching pencils, a kneaded eraser, and a roll of absorbent paper towels. Masking Fluid

5. Florida Keys Travel and Accommodations
Marathon, Florida is centrally located in the Middle Keys, making it easily accessible for traveling workshop participants. If you are flying into the region, the most convenient major hubs are Miami International Airport (MIA) or Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FHL), both located approximately 2 to 2.5 hours north via a scenic drive down the Overseas Highway. Alternatively, Key West International Airport (EYW) is located one hour southwest.
For accommodations, Marathon offers a wide range of lodging options to fit any budget. Attendees can choose from luxury oceanfront resorts, charming boutique motels, or nearby campgrounds at Curry Hammock State Park. We highly recommend booking your hotel or vacation rental well in advance, as January represents the peak winter season in the Florida Keys.
6. Registration, Fees, and Cancellation Policy
Tuition for the 3-day Gina Croce Watercolor Workshop must be paid in full to secure your classroom easel. Registration is handled directly through the Florida Keys Watercolor Society official website portals.
Due to the highly personalized nature of Gina’s instruction, seating capacity is strictly capped. In the event that you need to cancel your registration, written notice must be submitted to the FKWCS event coordinator. Refunds, minus a standard administrative processing fee, are available up until 30 days prior to the event start date. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 30 days of January 19, 2027, unless a replacement painter can be secured from the official event waitlist.
